Allnex closes location in Hamburg
The production facility in Hamburg is expected to continue producing until mid-2024, after which the supply to customers will be taken over by other Allnex locations. Allnex plans to renovate and dismantle the site by the end of 2026.
Most of the approximately 130 employees in Hamburg are affected by this plan. "We strive to find good solutions for our employees," says site manager Gerrit Lieske. Consultations and negotiations with the works council will begin shortly. "The intention to close the Hamburg site came after a review of our competitive position in Europe for our liquid resin products," said Miguel Mantas, CEO of Allnex. "Recent developments in energy prices, commodity costs and inflation have had an impact on our competitiveness in Europe."
