UV inks
As with UV coatings, UV technology has also made massive inroads into the area of printing inks.
UV printing inks are available in a wide variety of shades and, depending on the application, in different viscosities.
All shades should of course be as even as possible and at the same press speed by UV radiation
can be cured.
While UV technology has been used in screen, flexographic and offset printing for a very long time,
UV printing inks have only been used in gravure printing, pad printing, digital printing (inkjet) and as stamping inks for a few years.
Below are some printing processes in which UV technology is now being used with great success:
- UV screen printing (sheet/roll)
- UV flexo printing
- UV offset printing (sheet/roll)
- UV letterpress
- UV pad printing
- UV inkjet
- UV gravure printing
- ...
