Arkema launches capacity expansion for UV/LED-curing specialty resins in China

Arkema has begun production of Sartomer® UV/LED specialty resins at its expanded facility in Nansha, China, where the Group has invested in doubling capacity, as announced at the end of 2021. This will support the development of more sustainable solutions for fast-growing applications in Asian markets, such as innovative solutions for electronics powered by 5G technology and renewable energy.

The capacity expansion in Nansha will use the latest process and manufacturing standards. The entire factory has an energy efficiency program and strives for climate-neutral growth by purchasing green electricity and installing solar cells.

“Doubling the capacity of the Nansha factory will enable us to support the growth, innovation and regional supply of our customers in Asia. The increasing need for lower carbon solutions is creating new opportunities for UV/LED curing technology, which is rapidly expanding to a broader range of substrates and applications,” said Richard Jenkins, senior vice-president of Arkema's Coating Solutions.

This key project is part of the Group's strategy to expand its leading portfolio of high-performance and sustainable materials, including UV/LED, powder, water-based and high-solids technologies.
